We signed Raine up for some skating lessons. He had a test last week and had the last session today. At the end of the lesson he received his report card and 3 badges! He passed stage 1, 2 and 3! AWESOME!!
When he got off the ice one instructor told us about their figure skating program.
FIGURE SKATING???
I was questioning in my head "Why in the world is this guy talking about figure skating??" Apparently Raine has the perfect balance and control and can spin 360 degrees without falling which is very hard to do. He also has a perfect body as a figure skater too!
RAINE IS A FIGURE SKATER??
I never thought in a million years that Raine would have a potential to be a figure skater! When we were talking to the instructor I couldn't stop thinking about Raine dancing on the ice in those tights! Don't give me wrong, I like figure skating! BUT I saw the movie "Blades of Glory" a couple of months ago and all I can think of is the picture below. I CAN NOT think of my son in this costume!
9月からアイスホッケーをやりだしたレイン、今までスケートのレッスンなど一度もとった事がなかったが、1ヶ月半ほどのクラスを見つけたので入れてあげた。すごく楽しかったらしく、一度も休む事なく行った。先週がテストで今日が最後のクラスだった。レッスンの終わりに、レポートカードとレベル分けのバッジをもらって終わった。
全部で7コのレベルに分かれていて、なんと、レインはレベル1、2、3をパスして3つのバッジをもらって来た！次からはレベル4のクラス！よくがんばった、レイン！！
と思っていると、一人のインストラクターがダニエルと私のとこに「フィギュアスケート」のプログラムの話しをしき来た。私は「なんでフィギュアスケートの話しをしにきたんだろ〜？？？」。と思っていると、
＊レインは良いバランスとコントロールをもっている。
＊フィギュアスケーターでも難しい360度の回転を転ぶ事なくできる。
＊何よりも、フィギュアスケートにはもってこいの体つきをしている。
と言われ、フィギュアスケートをやってみないか？だって〜！
えーーーーー！まさか自分の息子にフィギュアスケートの素質？？？
というのが正直なリアクション。しかもその後インストラクターとの話しに集中できなくて、というのは何ヶ月か前に「Blades of Glory」という男性2人のフィギュアスケーターのコメディ映画を見て、フィギュアスケートという言葉を聞くと、この下の写真（その映画にでてくるキャラクターの一人）がどうしても頭に思い浮かんでしまう。自分もクラシックバレエやってたし、フィギュアスケートは好きだけども、どう〜してもレインがタイツはいて氷の上で踊ってる姿は想像できない！というか想像したくないかも...
