Roller Hockey

Raine's hockey coach from 2 years ago invited us to play roller hockey at 9 o'clock Sunday morning. It's a weekly thing and I don't know if we can get up this early every Sunday.

レインの昔のコーチが毎週日曜日、朝9時からロラーホッケーをやることにしたらしく、そのお誘い電話があった。日曜朝9時か〜、泣。せっかくゆっくり起きられるのに...と。でもレインはかなりはりきっているよう！

Mayfest

Raine's friend, Brendan invited us to Mayfest at his school! It was SO hot and I don't even know how many popsicles Raine had...at least 5(TOO MUCH SUGAR!)!!! We had a blast! There were some games that I wanted to try too but they were all for the kids. Sucks...

レインのホッケー友達が「Mayfest」という毎年恒例の学校のイベントに誘ってくれた。最高のお天気だったが、外に3時間はさすが暑かった、汗。レインなんて、暑すぎてアイスクリーム5コ（？）くらい食べてた（こんなにお砂糖とって夜眠れるのかどうか...）!いろんなゲームがあり、予想以上に楽しめた！ただ、大人がゲームに参加できかったのがくやし〜。

Track Meet

Raine had his track meet today and guess what his event was? ...1500M!!! Raine has never been trained for it. You can't just say one day that you want to do it and run without any practice. This is something that kids need to be trained for. I don't know if I should say he is brave or not...

レインは今日陸上競技大会があり急遽応援に行くことにした！何の競技をやるかと思いきやなんと、1500メートル！！！毎年リレーとかはやっていたけど、長距離なんて、「やる〜！」って言って練習を1, 2回してやれるものではないっ！ガリガリ君レインがこんなとこ4周も走れるのだろうか...

Raine came 8th! When he came back he said to me right away that he would NEVER do this again next year and this was the hardest thing ever in his life!!! Poor Raine...

レインは12人中8位となった！レイン言わく今まで生きてきた中で一番辛い思いをしたらしい（ってまだ10年しか生きてないのに...）！来年はリレーか100mがいいって！そりゃそうだ、長距離とかは日頃のトレーニングが必要！そんな簡単な事ではないはず。

Gr. 4 Art Show

Raine's school had an art show! Everyone has worked so hard since last September and they finally finished 2 pieces for the show! I was AMAZED how talented everyone was!!! It was funny that there were some kids in the uniform walking around and serving us some finger foods! They even had some sushi!!!

待ちに待った4年生の「アートショー」があり行ってきた！去年の9月からずっーーーーと描いてきた2つの絵。やっとこのアートショーで見せることができた。どの作品もとても小学4年生とは思えないでき（少なくとも私よりみんな上手い、涙！）！面白かったのが、チビッコ（学校の生徒）が制服をきて歩き回っては飲み物、食べ物をお父さんお母さんに「いかがですか？」って、ウエーターになっていたこと！そんなたいした物では、、、と思って近づくとなんとオリーブ、モッツァレラチーズ、生ハムプシュートがくしに刺さったのやお寿司！なんかリッチな気分でのアートショーとだった！

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)
週に何回チョコレートを食べたいか考えて、その数字を思い浮かべる（必ず1回以上10回未満）。

2. Multiply this number by 2
その数字にx2をする。

3. Add 5
その答えに+5をする。

4. Multiply it by 50
それに再度x50。

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1760... If you haven't, add 1759...
今年の自分の誕生日がすでに過ぎている人は+1760、誕生日がまだの人は+1759をする。

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
でた数字から自分の生まれた年をマイナスする。

You should have a three digit number.
数字を見ると3けたの数字がでたはず。

52!

Raine picked Mike Green's number "52" for next year. This picture is from their website and noticed that they added a few pounds and inches for Raine! He is actually 4'4" and weighs 52lbs. Funny! Some kids are already as tall as I am and heavier than I am and they are only 9 years old! CRAZY!!! Come on Raine, GROW!!!

It's a boy!

Perry and Jen are expecting a baby in September! They just found out it's a boy!!! That's Raine's first cousin and he is SO excited! Perry and Jen, whatever it is don't let Raine name your baby because I know some names in Raine's mind!

ペリーとジェンが1年間の旅行から戻ってきて、ジェンに赤ちゃんができた事がわかった！しかも、最近のウルトラサウンドで男の子とわかったらしい！レインは大喜び！！！健康な赤ちゃんが生まれますように！

ちなみに、レインは初の従兄弟だから喜んでどんな名前にしようか考えているみたいだけど（ペリーとジェンに許可なく）、何があってもレインに名前を決めさせないように！名前のリストを見るとエラい事になっている...

Toronto Ice Dogs

Raine got scouted by some teams for next year during the season. We went to some skates to see which team would be the best fit for Raine. I think we found the team-Toronto Ice Dogs!

今年初めてハイレベルホッケーを経験し、もちろん後悔する事は全くないが、来年は今シーズンとは違うコーチングスタイルのチームに行くことにし た。と言うのも、今シーズンは子供達を褒める事ができないコーチのもとで、試合に勝っても負けても怒鳴るだけの常にネガティブな環境（特にアシスタントコー チが最悪！）で残念な事に終わってしまった、涙。

シーズン中にレインはいくつかのチームにスカウトされた。そのチームの練習を見に行ったり、一緒にスケートしてみたりと9才のホッケーなのにこの世界はスゴいと思いながらレインを連れて行った。

その中で1人のコーチ、フランクに出会った。レインにぜひうちのチームに来ないかと声をかけてくれ、ダニエルと私で数回話したけども話すたび良い印象を与えてくれる。フランクは2人娘がいて、下の子がフランクのチームにいるらしい。娘を2人育てているからかとても落ち着いたコーチ。家に帰ってダニエルと相談し、私たち2人とも気持ちは一緒だった！その日の夜フランクに電話して私たちの気持ちを伝えた！「Toronto Ice Dogs」これがレインの来年のチーム！！！

Daniel's 39th Birthday

"Don't worry Daddy, you're only 39! You're younger than Lawson's Dad(Raine's friend from school)! He is 56!"

So nice of Raine! He was trying to make his Daddy feel better. I guess it didn't work...Daniel didn't like the fact that he was compared with a 56 year old dad...


「ダディー、39才は年じゃないよ！僕の友達ローソンのお父さんより若いから大丈夫。ローソンのお父さんは59才だって！」

なんてやさしい息子だろう！39才になりブルーなパパの気持ちに気を使って言ってあげた言葉。ダニエルは自分が59才のお父さんと比べられたことでさらにブルーに、涙。

Jackson's B-Day!

Raine was invited to Jackson's birthday party! They had a ball hockey tournament at the parking lot behind their house (couldn't wait!)! Unfortunately it rained but the kids had SO much fun! Raine brought his goalie equipment and played goalie the whole time! Guess what, he got the player of the game! Way to go Raine!!!

レインの友達、ジャクソンの誕生日会に招待され行ってきた！家の裏にある駐車場でボールホッケーのトーナメントをした！残念なことに雨が降ってしまったが、全部で4チーム、20人くらいの子達が来た！レインは自分のゴールキーパーのものを持って行き、4試合全部キーパーとなった！レインのチームは3位で終わったがチームのMVPに輝き大喜び！

今シーズン今日で終了！レインはたくさん良いお友達を作り嬉しい、楽しい思い出、試合に負けた時の悔し涙を分かち合ってきた仲間！来シーズンは別なチームに行く子や残る子でチームがバラバラになってしまうがいつまでもお友達でいようね！

In the past he always asked for a nice hockey stick, BMX bike, DS, iPod Touch, etc. However, this year he asked for something that Daniel and I never thought he would ask in million years.

レインが今日で10才になった！子供の成長はホント早いもんだ〜。

毎年、誕生日プレゼントにはDS、新しいホッケーのスティック、BMXの自転車などをねだってくるレイン。今年は何を言ってくると思ったら、なんと、ハードカバーのノートとシャーペンだって！

レインは変わっている子と思っていたけど、まさか誕生日プレゼントにシャーペンとくるとは想像もしていなかったが、文房具屋さんに連れて行って好きなのを選んで買ってあげた。写真を見るとわかると思うけど、最高にうれいいらしい。文房具と言うかシャーペンに今すごくハマっているレイン、今では学校の帰りに文房具屋さんに通う毎日（ゲームとかにハマるよりかはいいかっ。）...

Family Day!

YES! Another long weekend is here!!! We went to High Park for ice skating with our friends, David, Chris, Liam and Ethan! We actually live close from the park but we did not know that we could skate on this frozen pond in winter. Such a great way to spend time together on Family Day!

待ちに待った連休！ここ数年前から始まった「ファミリーデー」、なんて意味のある良い休日だろうと思う。ダニエルと私の友達家族と一緒にHigh Parkの池にアイススケートをしに行ってきた！実際家からスゴく近いのにここでスケートできるなんて今まで知らなかった...いつも映画に行ったり家でゆっくりしたりって感じだったけど、今年は充実したファミリーデーでした！

Ethan's B-Day

Raine's friend from school, Ethan had his 10th birthday party! Raine was SUPER excited because he knew he would play hockey at Ethan's backyard rink(HOLY COW, it's huge!!!)!

It was one of those crazy days today. Raine had hockey practice from 11:30 to 1:00pm, I took him to Ethan's at 1:30pm, I had 2 appointments and... I was running around all day trying to juggle everything! Amazingly I did it all! SUPER MOM!!!

レインは学校のお友達Ethanの誕生日会に招待され行って来た。裏庭にスケートリンクを作ったのでそこでのお誕生会とのことでレインにしてみたら絶対見逃せない！こっちでは裏庭にこうやってリンクを作る人が多いがここまで大きいのを見た事がない、大感動！

いや〜でも今日はホントに忙しい日だった。ホッケーの練習が11時半から13時まで。1時半からは誕生会、そして私はそれ以外に2つアポイントメントがあり、1日が走り回って終わってしまった、はぁ〜。

Happy New Year!!!

Raine's friend phoned us today to play shinny at Wallace Rink. The game started at 2:15pm and it was supposed to be just for one hour. We too were out there watching the game in the cold snowy weather. The kids had so much fun and kept playing and playing and playing...till 7:30pm!!! Thank goodness for the indoor changing room and snack bar! I wouldn't have survived without that!!!

レインの友達から電話があり近くのコミュニティーセンターのアウトドアリンクで12才以下の子のホッケーの試合があるから行こう、と。試合は午後2:15から1時間だけ。のつもりが何がどう起きたのかわからないが、夜の7:30までホッケーをしていた！こっちは「さむ〜い、さむ〜い」と言いながら最初の1時間はみていたが、雪がたくさん降ってきてとてもじゃないが立ってみてることはどう考えても自殺行為となった。運良くここのリンクはインドアの着替え室とスナックバーがあり、私達親はみんなそこに避難することになった。そして私の大好きなコーヒーを飲みながらのおしゃべりタイムが始まった！

New Year's Eve!

This is a super fun game that Raine got for Christmas! Raine and I played it all night! That's how we celebrated New Year's Eve at home...

このスーパーマリオゲームはレインがサンタさんからもらったプレゼントの1つ！かなり楽しい！気づくとレインと私で今日ずっーーーとこれで遊んでた。しかもこのゲームして年越ししてしまった...こんな親子2010年はどんな年になるんだかぁ。

Condo in Windsor!

We left from Michigan and stayed one night in Windsor before heading back home. Uncle Michael and Aunt Betsy have a condo right along the river(apparently they bought this condo for July 4th fireworks!)! The views were amazine! We should definitely come back for the fireworks in summer!

楽しいミシガン旅行も終わってしまい、トロントに向かおうとしているとおじさんとおばさんがWindsorのマンションに1泊していったら？と。ダニエルは前に泊まった事があるが、私とレインにとっては初めて！デトロイトダウンタウンの景色が一面に見えるマンション！おじさん達は月に一度は来て週末をここで過ごすらしい。でも話しを聞くと7月4日の花火を見る為に買ったとか。来年の7月4日はここにおじゃましよっ〜と！
