Playoffs

Raine's team made it to the playoffs! They did great considering that most of the kids had never played basketball like this before.

お勉強にすごく力を入れる学校で、スポーツチームがどうなるかと思ったけど、なんとプレイオフまで行った！レインの学校で算数・理科・体育を教えてる先生、Mr. Gillがコーチだったので、上手くいったのだろう。やっぱり学校の先生は子供の脳の動きをよく知っているから、成功したんだと思う。

13th Wedding Aniversary

Hey Miho, 

Just wanted to say Happy Anniversary. With every year that passes I love you more and more. I love you for everything you are and more, although I wish you would clean the toilet a bit more often. Can't you see the ring around there. Oh well. 

I see how you are with Raine and he has such a loving and caring mother. I just wanted to say how much I love you and how much I still am in love with you! Now hand over half of the giftcard man!

Let's have dinner and a movie Saturday night. If Raine let's us go out on our own.

Raine tried out for his school basketball team and made it! His plays point guard and is in the starting lineup! Way to go Raine!!

Man in Fur Coat...

There was a man in fur coat at Raine's hockey game! (I didn't want to be mean but I had to take a picture! I wanted to show it to Daniel!!) All moms stopped talking as he walked by and looked at one another! "Did you see that! Are you guys thinking what I'm thinking?"

Sorry to say, but the coat was ugly! He probably spent a couple of grand on the jacket! You have to be P. Diddy to pull this look off!! Good try though.

レインのホッケーの試合で、いつも通りママ達が集まっておしゃべり。その瞬間！毛皮のコートを着た男の人が横を通った（゜Д゜）えええぇぇぇー！ママ達はみんなお互いの顔を見て、誰かが何かを言うのを待っていた感じ（笑）

いや〜悪いけど、かなりぶさいくなコートだった。あるママが『あのコートに数千ドルは払ったはずだね！』と。確かに！毛皮のコートは安くないぞ！んー、やっぱりラッパーorミュージシャンじゃないとかっこよく着れないね。

4 Permanent Teeth

For Raine to have full braces, he needed to pull 4 permanent teeth. He has a tiny jaw but his teeth are humongous! The dentist asked me if Raine wanted to pull all at once or make 2 separate appointments. Without asking Raine I made only 1 appointment! Sorry Raine!!

The dentist gave Raine 8 needles altogether and gased him too! It took about one hour to finish. Poor Raine! For the whole afternoon his mouth was so numb that he didn't even know he was drooling!

今は4つの歯に矯正がしてあり、全部の歯に矯正をつけるには4つの永久歯を抜歯する必要があると言われたレイン、涙。あごが小さい割に、歯が他の人より大きすぎるらしい（笑）歯医者さんに、1回で4本抜くか、2回に分けて2本ずつのどっち？と聞かれて、レインの意見を聞くことなく1回で4本と答えた母親(>_<)ゴメンよ〜。

当日は、レイン言わく、8本の注射をうたれガス麻酔もされ1時間で終了。歯医者さんから記念として抜いた歯をもらって来た。見ると歯が大きすぎてケースが閉まってない、爆！午後はずっと麻酔がきいていたので、感覚がなくヨダレがたれても気づいてない状態。レイン、よくがんばりました！

Raine and Christian got scouted by Coach Paul who runs a spring AAA hockey program! The team will have 4 practices and 3-4 tournaments between April and June. The kids on the team will be from all over Ontario, which means it'll be VERY challenging for Raine. He'll see how good other players are (especially ones from small towns!)!

レインとチームメイトのクリスチャンが、なんとAAAホッケーコーチ（この年齢では一番上のレベル）にスカウトされた！春ホッケーチームなので、4月から6月までの2ヶ月間のみ。練習とトーナメントは3つ4つやるだけ。でもコーチ言わく、オンタリオのいろんな街から子供達を集めたチームになるらしく、かな〜〜〜りレベルの高いホッケーになりそう。けど、レインはやる気満々！もちろんコーチ達もめちゃくちゃ厳しいでしょう、まっ、でも良い人生経験になるのかな。

We went back to Sugar Beach tonight. I guess people know about this place now.  It's not empty after 10pm any more. Darn it! There were 8 guys playing shinny when we got there but Raine was asked if he wanted to join! It turned out he had the best time!

Sugar Beachでホッケーできるってこと他の人にバレてしまったかも（って近くに住んでる人は知ってるか〜）！今日はなんと、8人くらいでゲームをやってて、レインも『あああ〜〜〜』って感じでガッカリ。でも、みんなに一緒にやる？と誘われ、20代の人たちにもまれながら1時間くらい楽しんだって(^_^)

Mahjong

Raine learned how to play Mahjong over the holidays! He is SO addicted now. Apparently he is pretty good at it! He can't wait to play against Jiji!

冬休み中に麻雀のルールを教えてもらったレイン。毎日やろう〜やろう〜としつこくしてくる（笑）ダニエルの従兄弟によると、レインなかなか上手らしい。じじと麻雀勝負するのが楽しみなんだって。

Richard Bell Memorial Tournament

We had a hockey tournament in Oakville on the 27th and 28th. Luckily the arena was 2 minutes away from Daniel's parents house! We didn't mind this tournament at all even though our first game was 8 o'clock in the morning and we got spanked! The first game was painful to watch...we lost 18-1! OUCH!!!

クリスマスの直ぐ後に、オークビルでトーナメントが2日間あった。なんとアリーナはダニエルの親の家から車で2分のとこ！イエ〜イ(o^_^o)　レインのチームは全部で4つの試合にでて、トロント市外からのチームと3つ試合した。朝イチにやった1つ目の試合が今までで1番最悪の結果に、、、18-1でボロ負けでした（号泣）。

Boxing Day

Daniel and I went shopping on Boxing Day! We don't usually bother to go because it's just CRAZY!!! We went this year just to get a coat I found last Friday.

Daniel set the alarm for 5:45am (The alarm was SO ANNOYING!!!!! The snooze went off every 2 minutes and it was the tetris music! I HATED it!!!). 

トロントに住んで12年以上経つけど、今回初めてBoxing Day（1年で1番大きなバーゲン）に行って来た。なぜこんなクレイジーな日にわざわざ行って来たかというと、数日前にモールですご〜〜〜くいいコートを発見！Boxing Dayが3日後だったので、買わずにその日はガマンすることに（;^_^　そのかわり、26日の朝イチにお店に戻ることにした。ダニエルは『みほのサイズはなくなるから朝イチでいこう〜！』と。朝5:45にダニエルの携帯アラームが鳴り起こされた（テトリスの音楽で2分に1回スヌーズ機能が起動（怒）、うざ〜〜〜い！）。

So quiet...is it worth it? Why are the shoppers all Asian people??

周りをみると、こんな時間にお買い物をしてる人はみーんなアジア人（笑）なぜだ？？

YES! The coat was on sale! It's totally worth it! Thanks Daniel! You are the best! (Daniel made me say it!)

やった〜o(^o^)o　やっぱりコートがセールになってる！しかもフロアーにXXSのサイズがなくて、ストックルームから探してこないといけなかった。朝イチに行ってよかった〜。ダニエルに感謝！

ダニエルの親からダニエルへのプレゼントは、いつも生活に必要なモノが多い（For you Miho!と私には洋服とかコーチのかばんとかくれるo(^o^)o）！メンソレータムとかいって、うけたけどこっちでこれ見つけることできないから、ダニエルは純粋に喜んでいた（笑）

Last Minute Shopping!

Hard to believe it's December! We don't have any snow and the lake is not frozen!!!  Loving it! Since it was such a beautiful day Daniel and I walked to the Eaton Centre for the last minute Christmas shopping!

これがトロントの12月？？と思うほど今年はサイコー(o^_^o)雪もないし、オンタリオ湖も凍ってない！レインも今日が最後の学校ということもあり、いない間に最後のクリスマスショッピングにレッツゴー☆ダニエルと２人で歩いて行ってきました。

いつからクリスマスにプレゼントを買う習慣になったんだろう。。。

Raine joined us after school and helped us find a gift for his little cousin, Adrien!

放課後にレインと駅で待ち合わせをして、Adrienへのプレゼント探しへレッツゴー☆

Raine needed a break from shopping. "Raine, you have been shopping for not even 5 minutes..."

おいっ！お買い物し始めて5分もたってないのに、きゅうけい〜って。

"Daddy, you said you didn't want to eat! You always do this!"

いつものことながら、ダニエルは『いらない、お腹好いてないから』と。でもピザを見ると手を伸ばし、レインにブーブー文句言われたダニエル(☆_☆)

Secret Santa Gift

Raine was so happy to get this hockey toy from his secret santa, Ally! The budget was under $10 and it was impossible to even find something under $10 nowadays. Ally did a good job! I asked Raine what his friends got. One boy got a water bottle, another boy got a SUDOKU book(of course it's an Asian boy!). The funniest gift was a DEODORANT!!! 

レインの学校でシークレットサンタがあった。お友達はみーんな、レインがホッケーが好きなことを知っているので、10ドルまでの制限があったのにこんないいプレゼントがもらえた(*^.^)レインの友達はどんなのをもらえたのか聞くと、スポーツボトルや数独の本（もちろんアジア人の子へのギフト（笑）！）など。一番笑えたのが、汗をおさえるデオドラント！！！それをもらった子は汗臭い？というメッセージがこめられてるってことかな(☆_☆)

The team got together for dinner before the holidays! Each kid got a Christmas gift from the coaches! Happy Holidays! See you at the Oakville tournament on the 27th and 28th!

クリスマスのチームディナーに行って来た。コーチ達のアイディアで、子供達みんなにクリスマスプレゼントを渡してくれた。次に会うのは27日から始まるオークビルトーナメントだね！

Celebration of Music 2011

We had an annual winter concert at Earl Haig. We didn't get good seats this time just because I forgot to bring the ticket order form to the office on the first day of ticket sales! If you miss the first day you know that you get crappy seats! DARN IT!!! 

FYI, Raine wanted us to get good seats so bad so on the order form he wrote a check mark to say that his guests were handicapped!!! How clever! However, I had to make him erase that! 

毎年恒例のクリスマスコンサートがあった。レインの学校のコンサートは、チケットのセール初日に注文フォームとお金を支払わないと、後ろの変な席になってしまう。それほど人気なコンサート。注文フォームをレインに渡したけど、お金を持たせるのを忘れてしまい、次の日に注文することとなった(>_<。)　

初日をミスしたことでレインはかなりショックを受け、何を考えたかというと、注文フォームに書いてある『ゲストはハンディーキャップですか？』のところにYesのチェックマークを書いてくれた（爆）なんて頭のいい子でしょう〜。でもそればっかりはできない！ハンディーキャップって、ダニエルと2人でそれっぽく演技しないといけないのはやっぱり無理だぁ。

We found this awesome place to play hockey! This rink closes at 10pm and that's when everyone leaves including the security!

家の近くにこんな場所発見！少し隠れているとこにあるから誰も知らない？！22時まではパブリックスケートリンクになっていて、それ以降はセキュリティーの人も帰ってしまいいい、誰もいなくなる。チャンス！！！ホッケーのスティックとパックを持って、誰もいない大きなアイスで遊んじゃった〜。
