New Rep!

After 9 years with i2i art, it was time for Daniel to look around and see what other options were out there for him. He contacted some reps in Canada and the states. Many agents know who he is and are interested in working with him. After emailing back and forth and talking on the phone he made up his mind. He chose "Contact Jupiter" in Montreal. He is very excited!

9年ずっと同じ事務所（i2i art inc.）に所属していたが、ここ最近他の事務所探しをしていたダニエル。この業界で長い間仕事をしているのでほとんどの事務所がダニエルの存在を知っていた。いくつか自分の興味があるところとメールと電話で連絡をとり、「Contact Jupiter」というモントリオールベースの事務所に移る事に決めた！

Dave & Buster's

Since the kids have been playing very well lately the coach said that we all should go to Dave & Buster's for a treat! We had lunch there and played lots of games. They had SO much fun together!!!

レインのホッケーチームはここずっとがんばって良い試合をしいい成績をだしているので、コーチの提案でみんなで遊びに行こう！と。そこで「Dave & Buster's」という所へ行って来た（レストランとゲームセンターみたいのが一緒になっている所）。子供達がゲームしている間親はお茶をしながらおしゃべり（私の一番好きな事！）！

We went to the island for trick or treating with Isreal and her mom, Niki! It was very windy but it wasn't cold...thank goodness! Can you tell what Raine dressed up this year??

今年のハローウィーンもまたフェリーに乗ってトロントアイランドへ行って来た！今回はお友達のIsrealとそのお母さんと一緒に行って来た！天気が気になっていたが（ずっと雨マークだったので）強風以外雨も降ることなく楽しめた！ちなみに、レインのコスチューム見て何になったかわかるかな？

Used Clothing Sale...

Raine's school had a used clothing sale today. Since I knew that I wanted to find 6 items(uniform, gym clothes, jazz shoes, etc) I tried to get there by 3:30pm(just before the sale started).

When I got there it was OVERWHELMING!!! It was like a boxing day sale! Parents were already there running around and pulling and taking things from other parents! Then I realized the asian parents were the worst ones there! They all seemed to have the same trick. They would grab as many as possible, go to the corner, try everything on, keep the ones that fit and discard the rest. HOLY COW!!! I said to myself, "I have to be like that too if I want to find something for Raine!". I pushed some parents and took some stuff(kind of fun!). I ended up finding 4 items and I am SO proud of myself!!! Good thing that Daniel wasn't there to see me like that!

レインの学校が体操着や制服などの「古着セール」をやったので行って来た。全部で6アイテムを見つけたかったのでセールが始まるちょっと前には行こうと家を出た。ところが学校につくともう既に親達が走り回ってうばいあいの戦争状態！まるで夏の大バーゲンって感じ（？）かなり驚いてひいてしまったが、よくよく見るとみんな同じ動き（トリック）をしている事を発覚！

1. サイズ関係なくとにかくほしい物は全て先にとる
2. それを持って角の誰もいない所に行く
3. 子供に試着させる
4. サイズが合った物だけとって残りを返す

どうりでテーブルの上にはほとんど何もないわけだ！しかもなぜかこの技を使っているのはアジア人の親だけ！うーん、頭が良いと言うか、ずる賢いと言うか...でもそこで私は「ここで何か見つけるにはこの親達には負けてられない！」と思い私もその仲間入りしてしまった。

結果的には4つもレインのサイズを見つけ満足、満足！でもこのオバタリアンの自分をダニエルに見られなくてよかった〜！

Vancouver 2010 Olympics

Raine had a commercial and photo shoot for CTV and we had to go all the way to Burlington for that. Raine was SO excited because he got to play ball hockey instead of going to school! The funny thing was that the commercial was about a Caucasian family and Raine(!?). I don't even know how he would fit in this family...

「バンクーバーオリンピック」のコマーシャルと広告撮影の仕事でレインはBurlingtonというとこに行って来た。一日かかっての撮影だったので学校をお休みしてしまった。レインのシーンは家の前でボールホッケーをやってゴールを決める瞬間と友達と一緒に学校に行くシーンの2つ。でもよーく見るとこれは白人ファミリーのコマーシャル？そこにアジア人のレインがいるのはなんか笑える。

Go Toros Go!

Raine's hockey season officially kicked off today! Our first game was against the Mississauga Braves(No1 team last year!)! The kids played hard but they got killed and that was a tough one! Oh well, we can't win every game...

レインのホッケーシーズンが今日からスタートした！なんとシーズン初試合は去年AAの優勝チーム...レイン達はがんばったがボロ負けしてしまった、はぁ〜。まぁこれから35試合くらいあるのでこんな試合もあるよね。

Baseball at High Park!

Raine's friend, Tristin invited us to play baseball at High Park this weekend! Raine has never played baseball like this before. Let's see how good he is as a baseball player! I heard the coach asking the kids who wanted to pitch and I saw Raine raising his hand!!! "WAIT RAINE! This is your first baseball game in your life!".

レインの友達、Tristinがハイパークの野球とBBQのイベントに招待してくれた！レインは遊びで野球をやるがきちんとした試合は今回初めて！どれだけ上手にプレイできるか楽しみだ〜！ちなみに、コーチが「ピッチャーになりたい人？」って聞いた時にレインが手を上げた！初めての野球の試合なのにスゴい自信だ！

Dry-Land Training

Every Tuesday Raine's team has "Dry-Land Training". We missed a few sessions because we were away. I had no idea what to expect from this...

First Day of New School!

Today is Raine's first day of school! I think Daniel and I are more nervous than Raine. It'll be a great year this year! A lot more homework and projects to do. Hope Raine can adjust soon!

今日から新学期！今年から島の学校ではなく新しい学校に通う事になった。レインはあまり緊張してない様子。4年生なのでフランス語が始まり、この学校は宿題やプロジェクトなどたくさんあるはず。レイン、早く慣れるといいね！

Walk to DQ!

We had our last dinner together...we are leaving tomorrow. Time goes by when you are having fun! What a relaxing vacation it was! Raine wanted everyone to bike/walk to DQ for some treat!

明日トロントに帰るので今日が最後のディナー。楽しい時は時間が過ぎるのが早い、あっという間のバケーションでした！デザートとしてDQのアイスクリームを食べに行こうというレインの提案！みんなでお散歩がてらで行ってきた。

I LOVE BBQ!!! Daniel's dad is a good BBQer! Today we grilled some pork chops, shrimp, corn and homegrown zucchini!

夏と言えばやっぱりバーベキュー！グリルをするのはいつもダニエルのお父さんの仕事！今日はポークチョップ、エビ、コーン、畑で取れたズッキーニ！

My New Bike!

As you all know, I got my bike stolen a couple of months ago(still SAD!). Daniel's mom felt so bad and she actually let me take her vintage bike(Raleigh) to Toronto!

There was only one problem though...the bike was way too big for us to fly back with. We tried to take off some parts and box it but it was still too big! Daniel spent all day doing this but we ended up shipping by FedEx!

みんなも知っていると思うが、数ヶ月前に愛用の折りたたみ式自転車が盗まれた。今だにその話しになると悲しくなってしまう。ダニエルのお母さんもその気持ちが伝わったのかお母さんのヴィンテージ自転車をトロントに持って行っていいよと言ってくれた！

そう言ってくれたはいいが、問題はこの大きな自転車をどう持って行くか...飛行機に乗せるには最大のサイズが決まっていて、ダニエルが1日かけてタイヤ、かご、ペダルなどをとって小さくパッキングできるようにしてくれた。でも残念なことにそれでもサイズがオーバー。結局FedExに電話してそれで送る事にした。

Visiting Ella and Isaac!

It's been a year since we visited Akiko, Aaron, Ella and Isaac! The kids have grown so much and now they are expecting their third baby!

After dinner we went for a walk! It was unbelievable how many mosquitoes were out there to bite us(I should say ME!)! Yikes!

レインがEllaとIsaacと最後に会ってから丁度1年が経つ。子供は成長するのが早い、かなり大きくなっていたのに驚いた（なぜか自分の子以外みんな成長してるように感じるのは気のせい？）！しかも3人目があと数ヶ月で生まれる予定！

ディナーの後に近くの橋のある公園へお散歩。蚊がとにかくたくさんいてでも蚊に刺されるのはいつも私だけ...

Ping Pong Tournament!

Raine and I played ping pong in the basement for the first time ever(the table has been there forever but we never tried it till now!)!!! Both of us got hooked big time! I know Daniel grew up with this table but I was AMAZED how good he was! And I was amazed EVEN MORE how good Grandpa was!!!

Today we decided to do a tournament. The finalists were Daniel and Raine(believe or not!)! Daniel ended up winning but of course we all know how competitive Raine is so he did not like that! I think Raine is going to ask for a rematch...

リジャイナにここ10年毎年帰っていながら地下に卓球のテーブルがある事に今さら気づくマミーとレイン。二人とも生まれて初めての卓球、かなりハマってしまった。ダニエルは小さい時から弟と遊んでいたらしく半端なく上手い！でももっと驚いたのはダニエルのお父さん！70才近いのにあのスマッシュ！とにかく驚かされた！！

毎日遊んでいる卓球、どうせならトーナメントでもしよう、と！結局決勝戦に残ったのはダニエルとレイン。近い試合だったがダニエルの勝利で終わってしまった。負けた事にかなり悔しがっているレインは再試合を申し出るのでは...

Kohlrabi

This is Raine's favorite veggie, Kohlrabi(me too!)! I guess the weather this summer has been bad in Regina too so we got only a few so far.

This is Grandpa teaching Raine how to pick and clean it from their garden!

これはレインの大好物な野菜、コールラビ！毎年種をまいて我が家が行く頃には丁度いい感じで大きくなっている。でも残念な事に今年は寒い夏らしく食べごろなのが2, 3個しかなさそう、悲。まーこれから2週間くらいいるのでその間にお天気よくなってくれたらもう2, 3個はとれそうだね。

この写真はダニエルのお父さんがレインにどうやってコールラビを土からとり、きれいにするか教えてるとこ！

Salon Daniel

Raine doesn't like getting a haircut... Actually he has never been to a salon ever since he was born! He always gets his haircut from his Daddy(I don't trust him with my hair but he is pretty good. He cuts his own hair too!)! This time "Salon Daniel" is in the basement where it's dark and cold...

2ヶ月に1回くらいかな、レインが髪の毛切るのは。毎回ブーブー文句を言いながら床屋さん。実は今までに1度もサロン／床屋さんに行った事がなく、いつもダニエルに切ってもらっている。ダニエルは自分の髪も自分で切ってるほどなかなか上手（でも私の髪は絶対切らせない！）。今回「サロンダニエル←フランス語っぽく読む事！」は薄暗くでさむーい地下にトロントから一時移動...

We are in Regina!

We had to say goodbye to jiji yesterday and now it's time for us to take our vacation! It's always nice to be back in Regina(in summer!)! Lots to do! Every summer we pick some apples in the back yard. I guess Raine is old enough and tall enough to do the job this year!

じじが昨日日本に帰ってしまった、悲。でも今日から我が家はダニエルの実家リジャイナへ！冬はすごく寒いが夏のリジャイナは最高！レインにしてみるとまさしく「田舎のおばあちゃん家」という感じ。バーベキュー、自転車、畑仕事ととにかくリラックスできる！毎年夏に来ると必ず裏庭のりんごの木から新鮮なりんごをとっては食べるのが定番。よく見ると今年は大きくなったレインの仕事の様！

Lunch @ The Brazen Head

Raine's hockey tournament, Canlan King of the Ring Tournament kicked off from Friday. There will be at least 5 games in 3 days! We had our first game today and found out that we had some time to kill before the next game so we decided to go for a quick lunch at the Brazen Head. We had some nachos, salad and chicken pot pie! Mmm, it was a good lunch!

3日間のホッケートーナメントが昨日から始まった！最低でも5試合はあるらしく、日曜日まで毎日ホッケー三昧！今日の1試合目が終わり、次のゲームまで少し時間があったのでアイリッシュパブにランチをしに行く事にした！ナチョス、サラダ、チキンのパイとあ〜美味しかった！じじはここでもビールを一杯！バケーションって良いね、朝でもお昼でもいつでもビール飲めるからさっ！

Trip to Montreal!

I went to Montreal for 2 nights! It's been a while since I went last time. Luckily the weather was nice and I really enjoyed the stay!

モントリオールに2泊3日で行ってきた。トロントに引っ越して来たばかりの時は写真の仕事で年に何回かは行っていたが、ここ長い間行ってなかったので今回かなり久しぶり！天気にも恵まれ大満足！

Hockey Grandpa!

Jiji saw hockey for the first time in his life! I think he is hooked now! Even though you don't know much about it it is exciting to watch! He was amazed how fast and well the little kids could skate and play! He is so pround of his grandson now!!!

じじは今まで一度も生のホッケーを見た事がなかった！今回遊びに来て運良く試合と週末に3日間のトーナメントがあることになった。ホッケーはルールを知らない人でも誰でも楽しめるスポーツだと思うので、じじもかなり楽しめたのでは。8, 9才の子供達がこんなに上手にプレイできるとは想像してなかったんだと思う！

Grandpa came to Toronto!

We all went to the airport to pick up Grandpa from Japan! Raine was SO anxious to see him! We skype once a week but it's been one year since we saw him last! "Where is JIJI??" Raine asked me a million times...

ジジが日本から遊びにきたのでみんなで空港にお迎え！週に1度はスカイプをしてもやっぱり実際会うとなると嬉しいね！丁度1年前にカルガリーで会った以来か〜。レインは「ジジどこ？？」の連発！

Cherry Beach

Raine and I biked to Cherry Beach today since the weather was nice(the weather in Toronto has been crappy this summer!)!

今年のトロントの夏は寒い！ここ最近ずっーと天気が悪くて（毎日スコールの様に雨が降る！）でも今日は久しぶりにお日様が出たので、レインと二人でCherry Beachへサイクリングに行って来た！
